March 2019

March 2019

  • Bought some supplies for the basement
  • Rob & Joleen visited for a week and Rob helped Silas frame the 2 basement bedrooms and the bathroom. They also got the bathroom plumbing ready. Bryan helped a lot with that as well. We had so much fun having Grandpa and Grandma Aitchison at our house for a week. We did a lot of work but also got to Pastry Pub and to Pizza Cart while they were here. Yum!
  • Cleod helping haul sheet rock downstairs

  • Last Pinewood Derby! Grant did really well and had fun making it, even though it stresses Silas and I out. haha. Grant also got to go on a 3-mile hike for Cub Scouts this month.
  • The kids performed in the Mini Musical, Once Upon a Time. It was really cute and fun to watch them. Molly was quite animated. Grandma Rowley came up for one performance and Grandpa and Grandma Aitchison were here for one. Sasha and Bryan and their kids also got to see it!
  • Visited Grandma Jane in St. George for her birthday. Also met up with Sasha & Bryan and the kids that day and played at the park for a while. Loved the warmer weather.
  • We had Gideon & Aria at our house for almost a week while the rest of their family when to a doTerra leadership convention. It was fun & crazy having more kids...and their dog.
  • The kids had a couple of days off of school which is ALWAYS a nice break from running all over the place.
  • Molly is starting to read more and it's super exciting!
  • Robert is talking A TON and asks for his bottle a lot. He says, "Me, babble."
  • Molly as Princess Winifred

  • We attended our last Blue & Gold Banquet where Grant got his Bear award.
  • We went to Vegas for Garrett's baptism.
  • Dad & Mom went to Salt Lake for a weekend to attend Darin & Nicolle's temple sealing.
  • Cleod attended Youth Conference at Bryce Canyon.

  • Ryan & Grant had their first piano recital and did very well.
  • Cleod got called as Teacher's Quorum President.
  • Ryan got called to be a counselor in the Deacon's Quorum.
  • Robert- I’ve noticed lately how easy going he is when it comes to being watched by his siblings. He hasn’t always been an easy baby or toddler but I have noticed that since he has older siblings and I can come and go sometimes, he is really good to just hang out with however is with him. He’s happy when he sees me again but he usually keeps wandering around with Molly or whoever. It’s pretty cute.

January 2019

New Year's puzzle

January 5th was Cora's baptism!!! It was fun to have company and for people to be here to support Cora. Grandma and Grandpa Rowley came from Vegas as well as Deni and her boys. Darin and Nicolle came from up north and Sasha and Bryan came with their kids. (They also came for Christmas and New Year's. It's been fun to spend more time with them now that they are close.)

During Cora's confirmation she was blessed to continue her gift of the "gift of tongues." She truly is so good at picking up things in Chinese and I know she will be able to bless others someday due to this gift. She already talks about wanting to go on a mission in China. We feel very fortunate that her elementary school started the Chinese Dual Immersion Program when she was in 1st grade so she could start. The timing was wonderful for us!

Other random things in January:

  • Robert started folding his arms for prayers. He also started saying "Hi" to people at the store.
  • We didn't avoid illness this month! Molly had a short stomach bug, Cleod and Robert had a barky cough and Robert had a cold. Compared to the rest of the winter, we did pretty well staying well.
  • Robert started going to nursery, with Mom's help.
  • MLK day with the Groves. It's been fun to have them over several times lately since they are so close for the winter.
  • Molly is doing so well with school! Since she is back to half-day kindergarten she hasn't been sad or scared about going to school and hasn't complained about school at all actually! That's a big change from the last couple of months when she would cry unless I walked her in or she would tell me about how she had no friends or something.
  • Cora did her first science project but threw up the morning of the Science Fair. She ended up not being sick up stayed home anyway, poor thing.

Tamina's 3rd birthday!

Molly is just starting to write more...and apparently she loves Harry Potter.
