Week 39, September 24-30

Sunday, September 24th-

Today was a way better day for me although it was still hard for Silas. Poor guy is so stressed out all the time.

Super tired husband
One of my breakthroughs was this morning. As usually, there was a point this Sunday morning when the kids (mostly the biggest boys) were disobedient. They either don’t do what I ask or they take too long or they talk back or something. This happened and I got upset and did some stomping around the house. Then I realized that I was doing the same things that I get mad at them about. How can I teach them if they watch me pouting and not solving problems. So...I apologized on the way to the church. Usually I lecture to them about how I need them to be more cooperative or how they need to choose the right or whatever. But today I told them that I was sorry because I am an adult and I don’t need to treat them badly just because they are treated me badly. And a miracle happened...Cleod and Ryan apologized to me! This never happens when I lecture or yell (duh) but it happened today and they were sincere.
Got up to do something and
then sat down again and fell asleep

Then we got to watch all the kids but Cleod perform in the Primary Program. It was nice to sit by Silas and in fact, Pres. Rau was in our ward today so he sat with us too. Molly was very cute and confident during her part. Ryan was a narrator AND had a solo during the third verse of Nephi’s Courage, which he was way nervous about but when he got up there to sing he did AWESOME!

Relief Society was really good too. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations because often we get a lot of fluff at church, at least for me in the stage I’m in right now. But it was so good and just what I needed to hear today.

Tonight was my last night helping take care of Grandma Warby. It's just getting hard for my time wise and with the lack of energy I feel as I am getting bigger. I wonder if she will be around in a few months when I might be able to start helping again. She has slowed down so much and it always sleeping or confused. Poor Grandma.

Monday, September 25th-

Molly LOVES to swing
37 weeks! Had my appointment with Laurie this morning and got some great news! I'm already 2 cm dilated! I've never been dilated before my due date. Because of this and because we already talked about inducing me, she said we can probably induce early, at 39 weeks. Joleen won't be here until Oct. 11th so I'm hoping for Oct. 12th. She said that we will talk about it next Monday at my appointment. Part of me hopes that I will just go on my own before then but I doubt it. Another part of me wishes that I could be induced on Oct. 9th, the day I'm 39 weeks along, but we wanted Joleen to be here so unless it happens on its own we will wait.

First shave!
After lunch, Molly and I met Amie and her kids at the library park. It was SO NICE to chat with Amie. We used to talk several times a week at the gym but haven't been able to get together for months. She always listens well and gives real empathy and understanding. She always makes me feel better about hard stuff that is going on. And Molly loves playing with her kids, so that's a bonus too!

We didn't get to have normal Home Evening tonight because I had to babysit at the gym, but we did have an exciting event tonight! Silas taught Cleod how to shave his mini-mustache. It was pretty fun to peek in on them.

Tuesday, September 26th-

  • Molly played at the Allen's home this morning. It was nice for her to be invited somewhere else because I think she gets tired of me...although she was ready to come home when I picked her up!
  • While she was got I made dinner and FIVE freezer meals.
  • Becky Holman and her kids came over for lunch and to play. We had a great visit. Their baby is so cute!
  • Silas canceled his PPI with Pres. Rau tonight because Grant and Ryan ended up having practices and I had plans to go to the temple with Emma. I am grateful he did that because it was really nice to get out of the house and be with a friend and in the temple.

Wednesday, September 27th-

  • Had contractions ALL night and morning and ended up going to Labor & Delivery to be monitored while Silas got kids ready for school. Of course, the contractions slowed down and hadn't dilated me any more than I already was. That's normal for my body, but since I had already dilated I just really thought that maybe something was happening. It was pretty discouraging.
  • Visit taught Sis. Orton this morning. She LOVED having Molly over and Molly loved playing with her toys.
  • Piano lessons
  • Cleod mutual
  • Ryan football game. They lost again, poor boys.

Molly and the "restaurant" at Brenda's house

Got a car seat from Jamie today!
Thursday, September 28th-

  • Lunch with Warby girls & kids at Jamie's house
  • Cora's practice at Heritage Center for tonight's program
  • Took Cora to the Confusius Institute Celebration at the Heritage Center. We tried Chinese food, watched different performances and learned about the Confusius Institute at SUU that works with the Chinese students that attend. Cora's dual immersion class performed some of the songs they know from class.

Eating Chinese food
Fun at the Confusius Day Celebration

Friday, September 29th-

  • Playgroup at the church
  • Grocery shopping
  • Micah came over to play for a little while and I did family history while he and Molly played.
  • Natalie watched the kids so Silas and I could go to the temple. It is probably our last trip together to St. George to go to the temple because by the time we are going again together after the baby is here, the Cedar Temple will be done. We did initiatory, which was nice.

Saturday, September 30th-

Proof that Cora sucks on her hands or bites her nails
while playing flag football
Enjoying afternoon session of General Conference
This morning was busy. First, I took Cora (with Grant and Molly) to an early game...8am. She did really well and seems to be understanding the game more. We got home, got some things ready for the kids for conference and then I took Ryan to his 10am game. We had originally decided to not go because of General Conference but then decided that we would take the time to listen to what we missed in the next few days. We got to listen to the last couple talks but then Cora, Molly and I left again for a noon game for Cora's team. Again, she was entertaining to watch although she was a little more spacey this game. haha

The big boys, and Cora some of the time, are really into listening to Conference. I am really grateful that we consistently have listened to Conference over the last few years so that a weekend like this (where I am busy and exhausted) the kids can get their snacks ready and take notes without being asked. In fact, Cleod and Ryan had printed out some Conference activity pages last week so they were all set!

Cleod was super excited about the Priesthood Session and as he said family prayer tonight I really felt like he heard some things that made him think. That makes this Momma happy. While Silas and Cleod were at the session and dinner afterward, I wasn't feeling well so we stayed home and I did family history while the little kids watched Studio C episodes.

Week 38, September 17-23

Sunday, September 17th-

29 days until my due date! Yea!

Tonight was my last self-reliance class! I can't believe it's been 12 weeks. I have learned a lot from the principles in the book but also from the comments and stories from the members of the class. Although I will miss the time with them I am grateful that I don't have to be gone for 2 hours every Sunday night. I have already made a plan to study each chapter again starting in January and to add it to our Family Home Evenings. I want it kids to learn these principles, both the spiritual and the temporal, before going out on their own.

Monday, September 18th-

Loving sisters
Cleod woke up this morning with his awful cough that makes him almost throw up. It is the same cough that made him miss so much school last year and caused lots of issues. So this morning I was determined to get into the doctor and convince him that we need to figure out what is going on. We've always thought it was a virus but no one else gets sick and he doesn't have any symptoms. So we were able to get into see Dr. Corry at 9am and chatted with him for a while. He agreed that it must not be a virus after all and as we talked he thought maybe it could be a restricted airway issue, like asthma. Cleod hasn't ever had respiratory issues but it made sense with what Cleod was experiencing so we decided to try an inhaler.

Almost immediately he stopped coughing and even when he started coughing later in the day it wasn't as bad and he took another dose of the inhaler. I am really optimistic about this!

Molly funny for the day: Gideon lives in Missaberry (Missouri). Sadly, by the time Silas got home she started saying Missouri again.

Tuesday, September 19th-

Nice notes from Cora to her Daddy
Note from Cora

  • Grant soccer practice 4-5pm (The girls and I went. They played outside and I sat in the van and read.)
  • Ryan football practice 6-7:30pm (Silas went and sat in the car)

Wednesday, September 20th-

Molly and I had a super productive morning! I made dinner and put it in the Crock-Pot, made some fruit salsa that Silas likes and made Muddy Buddies for the kids to have after school snack.

After cleaning the kitchen up I let Molly watch a Tangled and I did family history for a couple hours. Super lovely day!

After school we ran to piano which is always stressful but I was prepared with all kinds of stuff for the kids to get done in the car so it was a productive wait time.

We had another interesting Wednesday evening due to church and sports. Cleod had a Stake service project at 5pm and Cora had a football game at 5pm as well. I left Ryan and Grant home and they walked to scouts together at 6pm. Ryan's scouts ended up being cancelled so he hung out with Grant and the wolf den until I picked him up at about 6:30 to get him to his 7pm game. Silas had come home to change and have dinner during this time and he was at the service project too until it was time to pick up Grant from scouts. Cleod had gotten home too so Silas brought them both to the game and headed back to the church for Bishopric meeting.

Thursday, September 21st-

Today is Paesyn’s 5th birthday so in the afternoon Molly and I went out for his kid party and then in the evening the whole family went it for cake and ice cream with the other Warby's. The kids were especially excited to have a little time to hang out with their friends.

Friday, September 22nd-

  • Breakfast at Katie’s house
  • Jambalaya for dinner instead of date night. We've had lunch together 3 times this week so we decided not to go out. I intended to have dinner ready for him but instead he ended up coming home and making it.
  • I took Ryan football practice and stayed and rested in the quiet van.
  • Grandma Warby- decided to be done after this weekend. She was fine today, I just don't have the energy to keep doing this with everything else that is going on.

Saturday, September 23rd-

Freezing at the game
Ryan's team working hard

Cora hiking the ball

  • Silas and Grant to Parowan for soccer game.
  • The rest of us went to Ryan’s game at 10am and Cora’s game at 11am. It was FREEZING!
  • Chores
  • Cleod and Silas helped Rushtons move things into storage and to the Butterworth’s house. The little Rushton kids and Gabe came over to our house and played to stay out of the way. I made bread (first time in probably a year) and cinnamon rolls.
  • I went to the Women’s Broadcast at the Stake Center.

Week 37, September 10-16

Sunday, September 10th-

Today was a Regional Stake Conference Broadcast. Elder Stevenson from the Quorum of the Twelve was the last speaker and I really enjoyed his words. In fact, I enjoyed the whole meeting. I am hoping that feeling the Spirit again during meetings isn’t just stemming from the fact that Silas has been sitting with us the last 3 weeks in a row. I’m hoping that I am just out of my slump and I can enjoy, or even semi-enjoy my church meetings again. I guess we will see what happens next Sunday. Either way, today’s meeting was wonderful and I am going to try to be more cheerful and humble through my trials (two things that were talked about today).

Silas and I met with Pres. Rau this evening to discuss Silas calling and our family life. He is a good man and gave us some good council.

Monday, September 11th-

35 weeks. Had an appointment with Laurie this morning and it made me feel positive. She asked if I’d want to induce if it was an option and I told her yes. In a way, I’d like to see myself going into labor on my own but I’ve never really done it and so I would probably go late. With the way I feel physically and emotionally already I DO NOT want to go too much after my due date, if at all, so I guess we will see in the next few weeks what will happen there.

Silas had an appointment today with Dr. North about some stuff that he’s been dealing with, wanting some perspective from someone medically and someone who knows the trials of being a Bishop, which Dr. North does. He’s testing him for some different things and gave him some meds, so we will see what comes from that.

For our home evening activity tonight, Silas and the kids went out and weeded some of the backyard. It's a mess but just not a priority right now. The kids really enjoyed weeding though. It was cute.

Tuesday, September 12th-

Molly and I went to St. George this morning for a shopping spree! I literally spent way too much money but I am happy to have it done. We bought some clothes for me for the hospital (comfy, jammie clothes) and a few outfits for Robert, literally the first clothing items for him that I have purchased except for some white onesies. So now we are ready for the hospital!

Grandma Rowley came up to meet us and shop with us which was such a blessing, especially since we filled up 2 carts of stuff at Costco. I stocked up on all kinds of snacks and home lunch food as well as toilet paper, paper towels, etc. It is nice to have another thing marked off my TO-DO BEFORE BABY COMES list.
Trunk full and we are exhausted!
New headbands and shoes from our shopping spree

Wednesday, September 13th-

Molly is sick again today. She has only thrown up a couple times but she’s been sick to her stomach most of the day and couldn’t eat until evening. But once she ate she was actually totally normal. Ryan has a football game this evening and I even took her with us and just had her avoid other kids. I’m glad she is already feeling better. It seems like she gets little sicknesses a lot.

While she rested, I put together a shelf I bought to help our laundry to be more organized. I love how it turned out.

This evening I talked to Lori on video chat for a while. They are still living in hotels in Okinawa and having a hard time not being established in a home yet. I feel so bad but know they will be ok soon. I also shared some of our struggles with her and she made me feel so much better.

Thursday, September 14th-

Spent the morning building the other new shelf I bought. It turned out so perfectly for the space and holds everything I needed it to. After lunch I crashed and slept for hours while Molly watched shows. Poor girl...although she was happy about it. Haha. Even when I woke up I was exhausted. I sure am looking forward to being exhausted with a baby instead of being pregnant.

This evening Grant's game was cancelled because it rained all morning and the grass was too wet. It was nice to not rush out of the house. Silas helped me make a late dinner and then I went with Deruchette to Brick House for dessert to celebrate her birthday that's tomorrow. We had a good talk. I felt a little more normal afterward.

Silas's new meds and stuff are still making him feel weird and tired. Hopefully we can figure that out soon.

Friday, September 15th-

Tired Daddy and Happy Molly (to have daddy home)

Silas got his lab work done today so hopefully the Dr will find out something from that.

Molly and I woke up Grandma and were only there a little over an hour. That gave us time to do some serious shopping at Wal-Mart. Luckily, Silas came home to help me unload. I think we only need to buy produce and milk and we should be good as far as shopping goes for a couple months.

Cora had football practice tonight and Molly had a good time playing outside. The kids having practices on Fridays has messed up our date nights a little but they are having a lot of fun.

At practice, Molly: “Sometimes we have to dig”
in a super serious voice. Then I took a picture and
her seriousness turned to silly

Saturday, September 16th-

The kids enjoyed watching a video of football players
singing to Moana during the football game
This morning we had a soccer game and a football game at the same time so Silas and Molly went to Grant's game and Cleod and Ryan came with me too Cora's. It worked out well, although I missed watching Grant's game. His team is getting really good and they work together well.

We spent the afternoon cleaning and organizing the house. Silas and the kids were really helpful and it made the day hi really smoothly.

In the evening we were able to go you the first SUU football home game of the season. Silas was able to get tickets from the bank, which is always great. The kids were pretty well behaved and the weather was nice and cool...and we won! So it was awesome!
Silly Molly

Week 36, September 3-9

Hanging out at Uncle Darin's and Aunt Nicolle's house
Sunday, September 3rd-

  • Rob’s testimony- here enjoying the blessings of eternity... of the temple.
  • rich beyond the dreams of averous
  • Witnessed the sealing of 3rd generation
  • Hold the 4th generation, in 18 years hope to see him make covenants
  • Love my children

We spent the night again in Eden with the family and went to church there. It was a lovely fast and testimony meeting and I especially enjoyed having Silas on the pew with us. We spent a few hours with Silas's family before we drove the hour and a half or so to Darin and Nicolle's new home. It was so nice to see them again because it has been a really long time. Cora and Darin talked about her Chinese class and told him lots of the things that she's been learning. It amazed me because she was telling him stuff that she hadn't even told us. She can count to 100 already, say tons of colors, and more. It's really fun to see how she is absorbing all that she's learning at school.

Monday, September 4th-
Temple Square

Salt Lake Temple

Today was a long day but it was nice to be with family. Darin and Nicolle made us a yummy breakfast of sourdough pancakes, eggs and bacon. They are so nice to us. About 10:30 we headed out for Temple Square where we explored the Family History library for a while with Kizzie’s family and Rob and Joleen. Then we meet up with Sarah and kids for lunch at the mall. After lunch we went to Uncle Jack's hope to visit with he and Uncle Bob. The kids had a great time exploring their backyard.

Hanging out at Uncle Jack's
Benjamin and Grandpa Aitchison
We spent another couple hours at Temple Square after that although Kizzie and Andy had to leave. Sasha's family was at the visitor center so we went there for a while before heading out.

We stopped in Orem for dinner at Chuck-o-rama which the kids all enjoyed. Cleod even tried and enjoyed shrimp! Molly, on the other hand, ate mac and cheese and applesauce. Haha. That's the nice thing about buffets though.

Tuesday, September 5th-

Molly "resting"
Molly made me hold my finger
up and then put this random sticker
on my finger
  • Felt worse this morning- went to Dr and have bronchitis
  • Silas got my meds and some lunch for me
  • Had several naps
  • After school routine went pretty smoothly, but I'm realizing that the kids probably need less to do because they have no time to be kids. I need to revamp the chore chart
  • Cleod and Ryan made dinner- biscuits and gravy. I had to help a little, but they did pretty well
  • Ryan football practice
  • Showers, reading, bedtime

Wednesday, September 6th-

  • Oreo Os and marshmallows from Jamesport
    that Kiz brought me
Feel so much better today thanks to rest and medication!

Saturday, September 9th-

  • This girl is always happy and grateful
Two Football games at 10am- Silas and I split up and traded at half-time. Cora is so spacy but the coaches are so good to her. She did get the football at one point and ran as fast as she could!
  • Home for lunch for about 45 minutes
  • Soccer game for Grant
  • Silas stayed home to make stew!
  • Chores, naps, computer time
  • Ryan cast party
  • Double date with Josh and Tina at Sweet Basil and then ice cream at DQ. Yum!

At bedtime I read a Noah's Ark book to the girls and then asked them the questions in the back. Here are their answers...

1. Cora: lists the colors of the rainbow
2. Molly: Look for kitties
3. Molly: Yes, my Grandpa's boat...with my Grandma.
4. Molly: Joseph and [some other name]
5. Molly: Cake with puppies

WHAT?! Haha. This girl is nuts!
