February 26 & 27

Friday, February 26th-

Molly and Grandma
Finally feeling better today! It was amazing to feel the difference when I woke up this morning not feeling awful. The kids were excited to get to school today. Cora also was able to go to preschool. After dropping all the kids off, Molly and I headed over to Grandma Warby's to wake her. Molly was so cute with her. She shared candy with her at the breakfast table, danced for Grandma (it took her a little while to get the courage without Cora) and gave her a big hug when we were leaving.

We did some errands and picked up Cora from preschool and then had lunch at Jimmy John's with Silas since we aren't having our normal date night tonight. Even though the girls were being super silly, it was nice to sit down together for a little while and chat. We even went and got ice cream after lunch.

Back home I was finally able to clean the bathrooms and get a few other chores done that have been neglected this week.

The weather lately has been so amazing, tricking us that Spring is here, so we went on a long walk with Megan and her boys before picking the big kids up at school. My kids and I ended up staying at the school park for about an hour before walking home and even then we stayed out in the neighborhood and played and chatted.

Tonight we had a sad, but important break-through with Cleod. He told us about some bad pictures he has seen at school. It was hard for me to hear, mostly because I feel like his childhood is ruined and now he has to be on guard with his thoughts and actions in a way he has never really had to worry about. Poor boy. The rest of the evening, I felt awful. Why do people have to be so evil to produce those kind of images. I know that Satan uses the body in a negative way because it is so special. I know that we need to be more virtuous now than we have ever had to be. I am nervous about parenting a pre-teen. But I am so grateful he talked to me and that Silas and I talked to him about it. In fact, Silas handled situation so beautifully and helped both Cleod and I feel better and able to manage this trial.

Saturday, February 27th-

Busy Saturday. Full of stress for me. But we made it and it turned out to be a great day.

This afternoon Cora had Arts Lab so we played at the park at Gateway for a while this afternoon. The kids probably spent half of the day outside. So lovely!

Tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner. We stressed ourselves out making battered chicken, fries, sweet potato fries and even onion rings. But it was worth it and we had a great evening with them. Our kids are NOT shy and had their full attention right away, showing them books, talking about music and more. Both of the Elders are very musically talented and Ryan even took turns playing the guitar with one of them.

February 24 & 25

Wednesday, February 24th-

Cedar City Temple Site
Feeling overwhelmed tonight. The kids have lots of make up work from school and although they are jumping off the walls, I am not 100% sure if I want to send them to school.
I really like having my kids at home. The last few days have been super unorganized, because I haven't felt well, but generally we get lots done and play lots when they are home. They get along fairly well and it's just nice to have everyone home.

On the other hand, I don't do very well helping them with school work so I'm glad we have a great school and great teachers to send them to. I'm grateful for the structure that comes with the normal school day.
New trick
So if I'm being honest, I want to keep them home tomorrow. They could rest more and finish getting their homework done. Then again, they will be missing more work and they have been running around all evening so they must be feel better. I have had moments of energy here and there, but overall I haven't felt well today at all. So maybe part of me also wants the boys to stay home because they are such great helpers for me, especially when I'm not feel well. :)

Today we went and picked up some pizza and smoothies for lunch, mostly to get out of the house. We drove passed the temple site on the way. It was fun to see workers in action.

Thursday, February 25th-
Molly playing with tools in the morning
This morning we feel about the same. When I told the boys They needed to go to school, they all looked at me with the saddest faces. They love school so after their sad faces, I talked to Silas and we agreed to let them have another day to rest.

During the morning they read, did homework and played quietly. Ryan and Cleod played chest for a little while and some of them made creations with the toy tools. Once homework was done and we had lunch, we all watched the 2015 World Championships in Women's Gymnastics that I found on YouTube and ChromeCasted to the TV. The kids enjoyed watching it and Cora danced around the whole time. It reminded me of when Deni and I used to jump around the couch as little girls when the Olympics were on.

The rest of the afternoon we read and laid around. I am really hoping that we really got enough rest today to be ready for the day tomorrow. Cora is feeling the best, so she will be going to preschool tomorrow. Hopefully we will all be feeling better.

Sickness again!?!

Monday, February 22nd-

Well, the boys and Molly are still sick. Cora seems ok but fell asleep again this afternoon which is totally not normal for her so I'm afraid she is getting sick too. Molly tossed and turned in our bed half the night but early this morning, about 5am I think, she got up on our pillow and fell soundly asleep.

Good morning!!!
Napping again
So we had a long, lazy day today. I had the boys do a little bit of homework and a lot of reading. They also watched lots of cartoons.

For home evening, Silas taught the kids about Worship, which is our Stake theme this year. We had a good discussion with the kids and then we drove out to the Warby's to deliver a blanket and a book for Deruchette and the baby. Silas went in to see the baby but the rest of us stayed in the car. Der came out and visited with us for a bit though, which was super nice. Hopefully we can get feeling better soon so we can hang out.

Tuesday, February 23rd-

Well, now I'm sick too. The kids are feel a little better but not great so we are all home again. I read Annette's book Painting Rain which I really, really enjoyed. While I was reading, Cleod made us a snack and had Molly help him. It was so cute I had to get a photo.

Silas was super nice this morning and went to two different stores to get groceries and some goodies for us. He really is so great.

After lunch, the kids and I watch Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. They have been begging to watch it for a while now. It made me really sad this time. I obviously need a break from the Star Wars world.

February 20 & 21

Saturday, February 20th-

When I came downstairs this morning, all the kids were sitting on the couch reading. It is basically my favorite thing to see.

I babysat at the gym part of the morning. The kids spent most of the day playing outside with neighbors. It was a beautiful, warm day. In fact, it was so nice and sunny today that after I was outside for more than an hour chatting with neighbors, I got a headache from squinting. I always forget that I need sunglasses or a hat. We were supposed to go running at the track, the kids and I, but that didn't work out. The kids were a little bummed but had a great time playing outside. Silas took Cleod on an ice cream date in the evening and I cleaned the main level to be ready for Sunday.

Sunday, February 21st-

Reading together, Sunday morning
Playing games
Cora's asleep at church
Molly had a fever last night. The boys all had sore throats when they woke up. I am not excited to be going through this again. The nice thing is that Cleod could take care of Molly so that I could still do what I needed to do today.

This morning Cora and I headed over to Grandma Warby's to wake her up. Cora was super nice and chatty with her and Grandma loved it. When we got home, I fed the kids a snack and headed to church to watch Silas give his High Council Sunday talk in the Cobble Creek Ward. The subject was the unity of the Godhead and I think he did a great job. I love listening to his talks. He works really hard and shows that he really believes what he teaches.

When I got home, I fed the kids lunch and Cora and I walked to church together. Silas was helping in the Willowwood Primary during our ward's sacrament so it was just Cora and me. And Cora fell asleep! It was so random. I sure enjoyed the quiet time though.

Silas and Molly fell asleep after dinner. Ryan and Cleod still weren't feeling great but Grant, Cora and I took a short walk. We could see the temple site during most of the walk and the sun was starting to set. It was pretty beautiful!

Firehouse and Date night

Friday, February 19th-

Field trip! Today Cora and her little preschool group had a field trip at the fire station. The kids were super spacey and just climbed on the trucks, but the fire fighters didn't mind. I got to try on one of the uniforms though. That was fun.

Cora isn't enjoying herself at all
Pretending to be asleep
Climbing out the window
Date night! Today Silas and I tried Black Bear Diner tonight and they had huge portions! I ordered a side of sweet potato fries and they brought out a HUGE plate of fries. It was yummy but I could barely eat half of my meal. Then, very full, we headed to the temple. Being full and going to the 8pm session was a bad combo. It was really hard to stay awake. But we enjoyed our time there.

February 18

Thursday, February 18th-

This is the first Thursday in months we have been well enough to have lunch with some of our Warby friends. Today we got together at Jamie's house so we drove past the temple site on the way. It is so exciting to see the progress.

The girls had a great time playing today and it was nice to visit with Jamie and Katie.

Tonight Silas taught the boys how to play Farkle. We don't play games much so the boys were super excited. I had just gotten Annette's newest book in the mail, so I admit that I wanted to read, but I played a game with Cleod and Silas. We really should play games more.

Cedar City Temple site
Tuesday, February 16th-

We had Family Home Evening tonight since some of us went to the play last night. We delivered bread to some families and then got ice cream and drove to the temple site.

Wednesday, February 17th-

Listening at story time
Cora and her friend at story time
After story time it was warm enough to play at the park. It was a super exciting sneak-peak into park days in the Spring. Molly still loves the swings!

Cora at the top!
Loving the swing!

Pack meeting tonight was the Blue and Gold Banquet. It was dinosaur themed and the kids had a great time doing a few crafts and eating A LOT of brownies. Several families, including ours, made brownies for dessert so there wasn't a shortage.

Happy Presidents Day!

Monday, February 15th-

Cinnamon bread
Molly licking BBQ sauce at lunch
Today was a full day! Silas had the day off from work and the kids were off school. We did some housework but I decided to let the kids just be kids.

For lunch Cleod and I went and got Brad's for the family. Silas and I really are obsessed with the onion rings right now. We should probably take a break. haha.

I spent a lot of the day making bread. My new thing is cinnamon bread...super yummy!
Fancy dinner!
Since I was making bread at dinner time, we enjoyed Ramen for dinner. Cora and Grant even had a picnic/date thing going on with the little kid table.

The kids spent the day playing and having a good time together. It made me anxious for summer time. I love having my kids home.

In the evening, a few of the kids and I went to a little production of Cinderella that Christine's girls were involved in. Natalie was in charge of costumes and the other girls we in the play. It was cute and they did a great job!
