The CUTEST thing ever!

So, yesterday we reached a milestone...Grant LAUGHED! It is basically the cutest thing in the whole world. Yesterday Grant turned 3 months old and it has been a great 3 months for our family. We love Grant and he is so nice and friendly. He is a VERY good baby and Silas and I have a really special feeling about him. We're not sure what it is, but he's going to do big things.

Enjoy!

Grant's blessing

Sunday was Grant's blessing and it was a lovely day. My mom and dad came from Vegas and Silas's sister Kizzie and her husband Andy came from Provo with their two boys. We also had some family from in town come. We really appreciated those who came and enjoyed the company after church. The blessing itself was lovely. One of the main things was that Grant would have patience. In this crazy family, that is a necessity!

Word for 2009

Two of my sisters-in-law have posted a word that they are going to use throughout the year and I thought it was a great idea. My word for 2009 is PREPARE! I have in the last year or so been feeling a real need to get our food storage and 72-hr kits organized. I am close to having a 3 month supply for my family and finishing that is one of my main goals in the next few months. I also want to be more prepared in other ways.

Physical preparation- I need to lose about 30 lbs.
Spiritual preparation- Silas and I are going to try to get to the temple twice a month since gas is down. Anyone want to trade babysitting?
Meal preparation- Sometimes I have a whole month's meals planned and other times I am searcing the pantry. I need to be more organized.

Some other goals I have are to use more wheat in our diet, sit down and read or play with my boys more, and to be more positive in general.

What's your word for 2009?

Year in Review

So, I only sent a few Christmas cards out this year, and I didn't include a letter about our eventful year. SO, here is the Aitchison Family Year in Review!!!

We have had an interesting year. February was a BIG month for us. We bought a townhome on Feb 15th, found out we were expecting our 3rd child on the 20th and also found out that Silas has Rheumatoid Arthritis.

At week 9 of my pregnancy, I started bleeding and was on bedrest. It was a very scary time, but we made it though without any permanent damage.

In June we found out that we were having a baby boy. We wanted to name him after my dad (his middle name is James) and we love the name Grant, which is a Scottish name from Silas's geneaology. So we ended up with Grant James.

July we had our annual Rowley Reunion which is always a blast, although being prego and camping don't mix too well for me.

August 9th- Ryan turns 2! He is a very funny boy.
August also took us to Provo for a Hoyle family reunion. It was so nice to see members of our family that we don't get to see too much. A few weeks later, Silas started another semester of school. Around this time, Silas's RA medication started to work, giving him some needed pain relief which is such a blessing.

With the new home we also have a new ward. We miss our old ward, but have been enjoying the Cobble Creek Ward a lot. We are in charge of the Activities Committee and I teach Relief Society, which I love!!!

October 25th- Grant James Aitchison was born. We love him! Silas's mom, Joleen, was out for 3 weeks which was awesome.

November 20th- Cleod turned 4! Our little guy is getting to be a big boy. November also brought some final decisions on what Silas is doing in school, so we know for sure that he has 3 semesters left. There is an end in sight.

December 12th was our 5th anniversary...we took the family to DQ. Woot. We are enjoying Christmas at my mom and dad's.

Overall, it has been a great year where we have really grown as a couple and a family...BUT...I am looking forward to a new year with some new goals. Silas has a great job at State Bank of Southern Utah and I coordinate the day care at a local gym which I really enjoy. We are really blessed!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Anniversary, Silas!

It's been 5 years since Silas and I were married and I'm pretty happy with the decision I made to marry Silas. He works so hard for us and then comes home and really tries to spend quality time with the boys and with me. This year has been tough for him but he's become so much stronger because of it. I don't even know what to write because words really can't tell how I feel about him and especially the joy I have felt recently as I am lucky enough to be his wife. I love you, Silas!

I love my boys!

I just realized that I never posted anything about Cleod's birthday. It was Nov. 20th and we had a little party for him which was fun. He's such a sweet boy and so smart. This is Cleod with his birthday bike...

Ryan is a funny boy. He loves hats and gloves right now. He makes us smile!

Grant is an angel. I love that he is starting to smile.

And here's one of all of us, well minus Silas. I love him, too! He's been SO busy this semester and is all done this week (for the semester). GOOD JOB, DADDY!!

5 Buck Pizza

One of our favorite pizza places burnt down last night or early this morning. My family knows one of the owners too, Chris Dunning. He was in our ward in Vegas when I was young. Here are some photos...
This is the back side. 5 Buck and the Bike Route were destroyed.

Here's the front. The backhoe is IN the store, or where the store used to be.

Pastry Pub is right next to the Bike Route and it was damaged too. We really hope they have some good insurance.

HAPPIER NOTE:
