Week 32, August 6-12

Sunday, August 6th-

This morning we walked to church for the first time all summer. It has been a little cooler weather so we decided to walk. I was still sweating when we got to the church but it felt good to walk. Before we left the house we saw a skunk in the neighborhood. The kids were super excited to see it but we stayed far away.

Church went well and after church the boys did indexing and family history. I did a little too. I had an interview with Clint this afternoon and then stayed and chatted with Silas in his office for a little while. It was quiet and nice. He gave me a blessing as well to help me with some of the anxiety I feel over the baby coming and something bad happening. I just want him to get here so I don't have to keep wondering when it's my turn for some type of tragedy. It sounds silly but it's real for me. After the blessing I do feel like I need to just have more faith that the Lord's plan is the right thing and that no matter what happens it will be under His control.

Had another Self-Reliance class tonight and we talked a lot about insurance and things like that which was really interesting. I learned a lot of things that I hadn't known before.

Monday, August 7th-

I'm trying to be a nice mom and let the kids enjoy their last week of summer vacation but I still want them to do their chores. I also feel some pressure to get ready for the changes school brings, like having them wake up earlier or whatever.

The other hard thing today is that the boys aren't really being super nice to each other which is frustrating to me and I've not been the most patient mother.

I love summer and honestly live having my kids home with me but today I am feeling ready for the routine and organization of the school year.
Bye bye double stroller!

Oh and I'm 30 weeks along today, Which is awesome! Maybe there is an end in site after all. ;)
Cora can ride a bike!!!

Tuesday, August 8th-

School starts in one week. I'm getting ready for the change but it is still a bummer that summer vacation I coming to an end.
Molly and Micah

Today we had soccer practice for Grant, piano lessons, play practice for Ryan, Relief Society for me and Silas had meetings tonight at the church instead of tomorrow (because tomorrow is Ryan's birthday). In between I made cookies for RS, rolls for dinner and lasagna for us and for a family in the ward. It was a good day.

Wednesday, August 9th-

Happy birthday to Ryan!!! He's 11! Today was a fun-filled day for sure. First of all we went to the East Canyon Park for the last playgroup of the summer. The kids had lots of people to play with and had a great time. The Shirleys, the Josh/Tina Williams's and Deruchette and the kids came, along with some of the normal people from our ward that come. We even saw a tarantula!

After the park we went home and ate lunch with Deruchette and the kids. Ryan requested corn dogs and frozen pizza. haha.

Once the Warby's went home we made our way to the library, on Ryan's request. SADLY, this was our first and last library visit of the summer. We usually go almost weekly but it just didn't work out this summer so Ryan wanted to do it today. We would have stayed longer but Silas got an email about Ryan's present which got delivered at our house while we were at the library so we went home so it didn't sit out too long.

Silas came home early from work so that we could open Ryan's present. We spent way more than a normal birthday and got Ryan a new guitar. He was super excited and although we had to run it to the guitar shop right away, we got that figured out and it sounds beautiful!

For dinner we left Cleod with Grant and Cora and took Ryan and Molly to Applebee's and then grabbed an ice cream cake on the way home. Ryan was spoiled and definitely benefited from the fact that I am pregnant and not functioning normally. haha.

Thursday, August 10th-

Tonight the big boys and I went to a presentation for middle school band. During the Intermediate Band presentation, she talked about Jazz Band. I didn't even realize they had Jazz Band. It is 4 times a week, before school. Cleod wasn't excited about it at all until she said something about the piano. He said to me, “I would wake up early to play the piano in Jazz Band.” So he might try it. He doesn't have to decide right away, so we'll see.
Cora and I at Back to School Night

The elementary school kids had their back to school night tonight too, so I dropped off the big boys and took Grant and Cora to Fiddlers. We learned a little more about the Chinese program for Cora, met Mr. Perkins and even peeked it at Emma Slade’s classroom. She's teaching 2nd grade this year and she's going to be so awesome.

Friday, August 11th-

  • Babysat at the gym
  • Lunch date with Silas at Panda ended up at Sears where we bought a dryer. We've needed one for a long time and Sears is going out of business in town so it was a good time to get one.
  • Rested
  • Shirley family came over for a visit and dinner. Silas made his nachos which were delicious.
  • Silas got the new dryer hooked up and it dried a load in less than 40 minutes! The old dryer took 80 minutes, sometimes more, to dry a load. This is a game changer!!! Now we just need to get the old one to the dump.

Saturday, August 12th-

  • Kids and I helped clean the church
  • Grant, the girls and I went to Kenlee Church’s baptism.
  • Silas took Ryan to play practice and picked up Desmond Jones who did baptisms with Cleod while Silas went through a session at the temple. Then they went to Costco for food and grocery shopping. Cleod said it was awesome.
  • Ryan played at Stonely’s
  • Littles had computer time and then played outside.
  • Grandma and Grandpa Rowley came by for a few hours before going to Grandpa's 50th high school reunion dinner. It was nice to visit with them. Grandma read to the kids and Molly fell asleep leaning on her. Grandpa fell asleep too. Haha.

Week 31, July 30-August 5

Sunday, July 30th-

  • Ish morning and sacrament with kids. Sundays are just hard right now. Ina and Jay spoke and did great though.
  • Super long nap after church (about 3 hours). The kids were really good while I rested. When Silas got home he slept for a bit and then we had dinner together before he left for an interview and home teaching.
  • Self-reliance group was really good today. It helped me realize some things not only about finances that I need to work on but also other aspects of our marriage and family life.

Some drawings the girls did for me
Monday, July 31st-

29 weeks along. And it's the last day of July which feels really good to me right now. August starting tomorrow makes October seem so much closer.

This morning the girls and Grant went with me to wake up Grandma Warby. We haven't been there at all this summer so it was nice to see her and the kids loved playing at her house.

For home evening we watched Swiss Family Robinson since I haven't seen it in years. I love that the kids enjoy watching old movies.

Tuesday, August 1st-

Busy day today. Cleod and I went to the Smith's to see how to water K Leigh's garden which he is going to be doing over the weekend. Then we had Grant's first soccer practice. We got home in time to do a few chores before going to the orthodontist. Ryan just had a retainer check but Cleod got his braces on. After lunch we ran a few errands before heading to piano lessons. In the evening I put Grandma Warby to bed which was relaxing for me.

Wednesday, August 2nd-

  • Lake on the Hill for about 4 hours- most of our playgroup friends had left but the weather was so nice so we stayed as long as we could.
  • Went to the hosptial for my glucose test, which was nice because I just read for an hour while I waited. It's so nice having big kids that can stay home together.
  • Grandma dinner
  • Scouts and mutual

Thursday, August 3rd-

  • Woke up Grandma Warby
  • Cleod, Molly and I went to Ina and Jay's house for Cleod to see what they want him to do while they are on their mission. He's just going to be checking mail, playing their piano and doing some light cleaning.
  • Molly started acting weird while we were there and within an hour or so she had a fever. Not sure what is going on but she's mostly happy and has napped a lot.
  • Silas went on errands with me and Molly during his lunch break because she missed him and she wouldn't let me leave her home. While we ate lunch in the van she noticed the dried throw up on the back door that I keep forgetting to clean (I know, it's super gross) and decided to clean it with some wipes that were in the car. She was SO happy to clean it. It was hilarious. In fact, she said at one point, “This WEIRD...and fun!”

Friday, August 4th-

  • Woke up Grandma again
  • Silas as Samuel the Lamanite
    Lazy day....everyone read a lot!
  • Cleod and Ryan had well-checks this afternoon and Cleod didn't even FLINCH when he got his shot. It was amazing, and weird. Grant called him a Vulcan.
  • Molly was totally fine until 4:45pm when she got a low-grade fever again.
  • Silas and I still went up to Duck Creek for the evening with the YW while they were reading the Book of Mormon (from Thursday evening til tomorrow afternoon). Cleod said he would be fine and we had service up there so I checked on them a lot. Silas dressed up and was a good sport. We drove up with Jim and Cynthia and Jim dressed up and read some of the time too.

The YW's schedule to read the Book
of Mormon in 48 hours.

Saturday, August 5th-

  • Last morning waking up Grandma Warby, at least until school starts. It hasn't been bad at all, partially because I had a break but also she doesn't take as long in the bathroom as she was before.
  • Silas and I took the girls on a date this afternoon. Molly has been wanting to play in the arcade area at Wal-Mart for a long time but I have no desire to do that...but we decided to do that for their date and they thought it was awesome. Then we went to DQ for a treat.

Week 30, July 23-29

Sunday, July 23rd-

  • Got to church 10 minutes early!!!
  • Had Braxton Hicks contractions ALL DAY long. At one point I almost called Labor and Delivery but decided to wait because it really is probably nothing to worry about. It was hurting for a while though.
  • Silas came home earlier than normal for Sundays because we were originally going to be out of town today and so he had no appointments. SO NICE!
  • Ashley, a 10-yr old whose family isn't very active, got baptized tonight so the girls, Ryan and I went to the baptism. Silas baptized her, which was nice for him. Luckily it didn't hurt his back, which is still bothering him.
  • I stayed at the Stake center for my self-reliance class and then Emma brought me home...and we talked until super late. :)
  • The kids were all in bed by the time I went inside. Silas and the kids had watched Swiss Family Robinson while I was gone.

Monday, July 24th-
Parade
Molly kissing Kylo Ren
  • Parade- Ryan was in the Lttle Mermaid “float” to promote their play and Cleod walked with the ward float. Silas stayed home because his back was bothering him so it was me and the 3 little kids for over an hour. It was weird...and surprisingly more quiet.
  • Picked up donuts and a meat and cheese tray at Lin’s to bring home for lunch.
  • Lazy time at home- Silas napped for a while and I did for 30 minutes or so.
  • A couple kids had computer time that they had missed on Saturday.
  • Kids played outside with neighbors a lot.

  • Random dinner- this happens a lot lately.
  • Play practice for Ryan
  • Dropped off treats at Smith's for Silas's home teaching
