Week 12, March 19-25

Sunday, March 19th-

Busy Sunday. Silas had his normal stuff and extra so he wasn't home much. We went home teaching together but that was cut short because Cleod called and said Molly was missing. So we freaked out and came home and she had been in our bed the whole time. Ugh.

I hurried and made our dinner which we were still eating when our home teachers came. I made Nutella-stuffed pancakes with strawberries, raspberries and whipped cream. It was delicious!

Cleod and Ryan spent some time indexing this afternoon as well, which I loved.

Monday, March 20th-

So tired. Had to go back to sleep after the boys were ready for school. The girls were good and entertained themselves. Unfortunately, I forgot to feed them. Since I was up again I felt sick and sent a text to Silas. He showed up a few minutes later, fed the girls, bathed them both and got Cora ready for school.

Molly and I then headed over to Jamie's for lunch. I was feeling ok but still so tired. We didn't stay long because I had made a last minute appointment with Laurie to talk to her about being so tired.

Not a blob anymore!
Part of me felt silly being there. Oh course I'm tired, I had 5 kids and a busy husband and I'm 34 years old growing a person! But Laurie noticed that I was congested, which I knew but honestly I have been feeling every kind of yucky so I didn't really think about it. She told me if I had a cold I would feel extra tired for at least a week and that was ok. She gave me some things to do to help. We talked about how the house is falling apart and it's a little overwhelming and she gave me some advice, including having the kids do their own laundry. Then she had Liz use her super old ultrasound machine so we could see the baby.

That was amazing. The baby was wiggling a ton and we could see it's little heart beating. It made all the tiredness and feeling yucky ok.

After the appointment I picked up the kids and we went to get soft tacos from Taco Bell (which I was craving) and ice cream at DQ because it was Free Cone Day!

Free Cone Day!!!

Tuesday, March 21st-

Lying in bed, typing this into my phone, and feeling gross. It's funny how many different versions of gross I have felt in the last few weeks.

My morning sickness this time has been less nausea related most of the time but my tummy is almost always over sensitive. Some things calm it for a short time, some things make it feel like it's boiling. Some days it is constant and other days it just feels upset for a little while. I'm in the middle of a cold which isn't awful in itself but it makes me so tired and my throat hurts so much at night that is makes sleep uncomfortable. I've had itchy eyes from allergies a little too. Today I threw up for the first time and am having a hard time eating.Sometimes having a mortal body is hard.

But having these experiences always ends up helping me to feel grateful. I'm grateful that I am generally a healthy person. I don't have to deal with chronic illness myself for which I am very thankful. I'm also grateful that I'm not more sick during pregnancy. I know many people who have it so much worse, like one of my cousins who is currently expecting her 4th and has had to take meds and has gone to the hospital for IVs with this pregnancy and her others.

So I'm lying here, my tummy bubbly from the Ritz crackers I just ate, feeling good about my life.

Friday, March 24th-

Mornings are hard at our house lately. One of the main reasons is that most mornings I have a hard time getting out of bed to help the boys get started on their routine. I told Cleod at the beginning of the school year that I wasn't going to wake him up every day but he doesn't wake up to alarms so I have been. So some mornings I get up later than I should to wake him up or I wake up Silas to get Cleod up. (Silas has a hard time waking up because he is always so exhausted lately. I try not to bother him.)

This morning was a doozy. I'm not going to detail it out but it's mainly due to Cleod not understanding time constraints. He doesn't seem bothered by being late. He doesn't know how to “hurry” at all.

The other problem is that Silas and I both seem to be on edge constantly. For me, I have a hard time being patient and understanding with the kids when I am tired or don't feel well. Silas is busy and stressed and hasn't been really patient, especially with Cleod.

The dynamic of the house had been off and the kids know it and sometimes they take advantage of that and mess around instead of listening.

Tonight Silas and I went to Chili's with Brett and Deruchette. We haven't gone on a double date with them for a while and it was so much fun! I love that we still get along so well even when we haven't spent a lot of time together.

Saturday, March 25th-

Today I taught Ryan and Grant to do their own laundry, like Laurie suggested at my appointment this week. They are both super excited. We have decided that they will each have a day each week that is their laundry day. Hopefully it works out.

Tonight I went to the Women’s Broadcast that is always the week before General Conference. It was an amazing meeting.

Week 11, March 12-18

Sunday, March 12th-

Today sacrament meeting was fun and weird. The microphones weren't working at all so all the testimonies were shared with no mic. Mary didn't know it was daylight savings early today so she was an hour late for church and so I went up to play the organ but couldn't remember the settings so I ended up playing the piano. I enjoyed the meeting because it was simple and we could still worship without the mic or the organ.

Monday, March 13th-

Cedar City temple 3-13-17
Cleod woke up with a bad cough so he stayed home. We drove up to see the temple in the morning.

For home evening tonight we talked about our family history goals and then Silas told a few stories about his Grandma Claire Elise. Then we looked at pictures of her. It was nice.

Tuesday, March 14th-

Molly took photos and edited them tonight
  • Hard day, pregnancy wise
  • Took Cleod to the doctor about his cough and not sleeping well. We are going to start giving him Melatonin and hope it will help.
  • Woke up Grandma Warby
  • Grocery shopping. It was horrible because I felt faint and I let Cleod stay out on the van so I was worried about him the whole time. Luckily the girls were nice the whole time.
  • Had a talk with Mrs. Roundy at the middle school about some concerns she and the other teachers have with Cleod. Ugh.
  • Silas encouraged me to go to RS so I did and it was good.
  • Silas had made the kids and yummy dinner while I was fine and was getting ready to serve them chocolate pie I got at the store today because it's Pi day.

Wednesday, March 15th-
  • Cleod stayed home again today and rested a lot. He worked on his homework and we even took him to Josh to get adjusted around lunch time.
  • I got a lot of laundry done this morning while the girls took turns having baths. I have only been doing a tiny bit of laundry at a time so it was piling up.
  • Boys had scouts tonight & Cleod went to the family history center with for mutual.
Getting packed up to leave the park

Thursday, March 16th-

Today was the new worst day of my pregnancy. I woke up with the worst sore throat AND with cramps. After consulting Google I realized that it was probably just my uterus stretching and growing but it made me feel worried and exhausted. Cleod was still home from school today so he helped the girls and I stayed in bed til after 10am. (Ryan had made me some toast so I wasn't starving.)

In the evening we went over to the school and the kids and Silas played baseball with the Rushtons and the Huffs for about an hour. Then we went to get ice cream because Cleod had finished a bunch of homework Silas had picked up for him.

Friday, March 17th-

The girls and I went to the Shirley’s to play and visit this morning. Molly and Kenan played so well which I guess he doesn't normally do and their 1 year old Ella likes me and even reached for me twice, which I guess she rarely does. So I decided that the Aitchisons and the Shirleys are supposed to be friends! Haha. Lori made lunch for us and we moms just talked the morning away. It was great. When it was time I took Ember to school with Cora and Molly and I stayed to help like we do every Friday. I didn't stay quite as long because I was not feeling so hot, but I got done what I needed to.

Saturday, March 18th-

  • Chores
  • Date with Cleod at Brick House
  • Silas got pizza for dinner
  • Watched SUU in a gymnastics conference championship.
  • I got a bad headache but it finally went away when I went to Grandma's to put her to bed.

Week 10, March 5-11

Sunday, March 5th-

Stake Conference today was nice. Silas didn't have as many interviews today so he was home a little more which was nice.

Darin finished with Brooklyn’s car this afternoon but had to head out right away. Hopefully we can visit them soon.

Monday, March 6th-

Yesterday and today have been the hardest days of this pregnancy so far. I don't feel good physically but emotionally I'm fried. I am gaining so much weight which is so hard because I worked hard to get it off and kept it off for a year and a half and now it's coming back fast! But I can't eat the way I would need to to lose weight because all that feels good on my stomach is carbs, meat and milk. I'm trying to have a banana a day but that gets gross and other fruits and veggies make me sick.

I'm also having a hard time with water. I know I need it so badly but it hurts my tummy so I try to sip it throughout the day but I know I'm not getting as much as I need.

Silas and the kids have been really helpful but there are some things I'm behind on and that is overwhelming at times as well.

Reading makes me feel yucky, or maybe just doesn't distracted me enough from the fact that I'm constantly feeling yucky so I haven't been able to read.

I could go on, but I need to stop. I knew there were hard days ahead. I told myself that there would be and that I would make it. I know that I won't feel like this forever so I need to be more positive.

Oh, on a...different...note: Today is exactly ONE YEAR from when Silas was set apart as the Bishop of our ward. We made it! Haha. We bought pizza and went to the Warby's to celebrate. I feel like we are getting used to it and the next few years will be ok.

Tuesday, March 7th-

Better day for me but not great. By evening I was done. Why does time seem to be crawling?! I know that the minute the baby is here time will speed up and I will feel like I'm missing everything, but right now I sit around basically hearing the second hand tick...just waiting for my tummy to calm down or for an idea of something decent to eat that will feel ok.

Yummy crepes
I did have lunch with Amber this afternoon. We finally tried The Park Place Eatery which is owned by Roene Bjerga and her sister. We had some yummy sandwiches and delicious .

Wednesday, March 8th-
  • Molly and Kenan holding hands
Gym-hard to workout but it felt good when I was done.
  • Lori and kids came over for a bit
  • Walked to pick kids up and stayed at the park for a while because of the beautiful Spring weather!
  • Got Silas’s broken windshield replaced
  • No cub scouts tonight but Cleod did have mutual
  • Let the kids stay up a little later than normal and poor Molly fell asleep before family prayer.

  • No SCHOOL TODAY!
  • Woke up Grandma Warby
  • Chores
  • We packed snacks and went to the school to play.
  • Ryan piano
  • Took Silas’s car in to be tinted. The back window tinting has been bubbly since we bought it and the other windows were scraped off a few years ago during an inspection even though we are pretty sure it was a mistake. The car looks so much nicer now!
  • Kids played outside a lot today! It was in the upper 60s!
  • After work Silas went to help Brett with a house project so the kids and I watched Studio C and Bored Shorts videos.

Friday, March 10th-

8 weeks and 4 days
This afternoon I went down to St. George for Summer’s baby shower. It was so fun seeing all of Deruchette's siblings and her mom and dad.

Silas got off work early so the kids wouldn't be alone too long, which was very nice of him. It was nice to have some alone time, although the drive home was hard because I was tired. I pretty much have a nap every day which I missed today, but it wasn't too bad….although I felt yucky when I got home and had to sit for a while.

My nice husband made dinner for the kids and I started feeling better so we went to Sweet Basil for a late date. It was good but my tummy was still sensitive so we came straight home.

Poor Silas has so much to deal with but he has been really patient with me today. I'm grateful for him!

Saturday, March 11th-

  • Kids: Chores, computer time and playing outside
  • Silas mopped the floor and I catch up on dishes.
  • Went to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
  • Walked at the track until Molly peed her pants. I took her home and Silas stayed with the kids to play some basketball
  • Waffles and fruit for dinner
  • Kids watched a basketball game on TV
